Tresorit is one of the endpoints, so really they could claim that TLS plus disk encryption is "end-to-end" encryption even though thats obviously not what everyone here means. The encryption happens between each endpoint where the data is delivered, hence the name. This is a misnomer, even if Tresorit etc refer to it as such.Įnd-to-end simply means that the two communicating parties establish encryption keys so that any middleman- including cloud providers- cannot decrypt it.
